My 8 year old son suddenly and unexpectedly reacted to wheat about a month ago. He developed a nasty red patchy scaly rash on his mouth and face within an hour of eating a cobbler. After a long process of elimination and food testing in the kitchen, the doctor believes it is a wheat allergy and we are going to be formally tested by an allergist on April 2. My Sister was dx'd as Celiac when she was 16 and going through post-menopause They did no testing other than the blood tests which came back both positive and negative My dad and mom were the next diagnosed, and it took a while for me to come to terms with the fact I also had it as I have all the classic symptoms really since birth I went GF without testing, but ...
