There is a DM near us and one in the city that have many gluten free items.

There is an organic market called Tegut that is also very handy, and has MANY gluten free items that are prepackaged, flours and such. They even have hemp products!

I have found many more items to add to my pantry, including a few cereals for my bran muffin recipe.

There is an asian store in the city (Thai) and an Asian-Indian market in the city that has helped us greatly. In the city my DH works in, ...

These guys are just one city away from the extended relatives. We talked with them and they are willing to truck items to us if we make a large purchase. This is where I found the GF icecream cones, icecream sandwiches, and GF phyllo dough (I haven't tried that one yet).

These folks were so nice, they threw in some freebies for us when we went shopping there as we spent so much and brought little JD along for the ride.

One word of caution though. The "Hammer ...

... Islamic meat markets can work..

It's not exactly my first choice, but I am finding we have trouble getting our meat from our previous (super awesome) Glatt Kosher source. They're expensive, use nitrates, use spices I can no longer have (Onion and garlic) in their Würstchen and, without a vehicle we can't get it ourselves to save on cost.

So, in looking around for something else when my mom was here, we found the local meat market here run by a Turkish family. In inquiring about ...

Hopefully this will be a first of many posts, and we will be able to further broaden our horizons as far as kosher items and prepared GF items with a hescher on them become more available.

Here's a short description of our last 6 or so month's trials in keeping kosher here in Germany.

My husband decided when he was seeking an apartment, studio or house for us to rent that we will either stay close to work if it is economical, or closer to his parents and where he spent most of his time ...
