Rice Cakes
Thu Oct 11, 2007 7:42 pm by Bete'avon!
Rice Cakes, remember them from about 10 years ago? bland, nasty tasting, diet food for cardboard boxes? They haven't gotten much better, but now they are a staple in Celiacs bread box.

These are what is in mine, they are very hard to find too.

Lundbergs

Brown Rice
Wild Rice
Tamari and Seaweed
Cinnamon Toast ( this one was particularly hard to find, had to go to a health food store!) They are organic as I mentioned and certified by halfmoon K, and vegan

I really don't care for many of them at all, they are too crumbly. I do occasionally spread the cinnamon ones with peanut butter or cream cheese but only if it's soft.

A note about the Seaweed ones. I just found out recently that Nori Seaweed must be certified kosher ( and I don't think anyone is doing so, because it is so tedious) because they have found that baby seahorses hide out in this seaweed and are present on it, so no sushi! Sad These rice cakes are certified Kosher though, so no worry.

Here's Lundergs site they also carry many kinds of rice, I get their white, brown and wild mixed.

Here are all their varieties, with their ingredients and exclusions

I would like to try their Sweet Green tea with lemon and the Toasted Sesame, but haven't come across them yet.

***Adding some Kosher info

Many of Lundberg's products are Kosher certified. In the Product
section of the website you may view each product profile where the
Kosher symbol will be displayed if it is a kosher product. Our kosher
certifying agency is Kosher Overseers Associates of America (KOAOA).
