| We have the pleasure of living in an area of much wildlife and have taken to feeding them all. I just wanted to extend a precaution to those who do the same. In some wild bird seed mixes ( and domestic birds as well , check your feed) there can be gluten containing grains.
For instance we have a mixture bought at a feed store that wasn't marked but upon examination I think I see some oats in there with the corn.

| Subject: Zoo visits Wed Jul 16, 2008 8:57 am | |
| Another thing to be aware of is if you visit or take your children or if they go on a school trip to a zoo or place that has a petting zoo. These places usually have food you can buy to feed the animals and are in a pellet form so you can't see what's in there, but guaranteed there is probably gluten in there.
If they are with you, you can take precautions but if it is a school or extra curicular activity, you may want to talk to the teacher or call ahead at the site and see it they have an alternative to feed or if maybe you can supply carrots or other Gf safe food stuffs for your child to feed the animals with, so they don't feel left out.
