Telma company puts out a Kosher GF Beef, Chicken and Vegetable stock cube set. They are put out by Unilever and are listed as Kosher for Passover.

I found mine at Publix when I lived back in the US, and here I found it at the Kosher butcher shop.

Another good thing is just making from scratch, but when you are in a pinch, this is great and you can add in rice noodles and veggies to make it more cold/flu friendly. Smile

Knorr was really iffy... last I checked they began adding wheat in droves.

Here in Germany we found one brand called Gefro that is gluten free and vegan (www.gefro.de) - though like I said before, certification here is almost non existant unless you get things specifically from certain areas out of country... the one bad thing about this one is that it does have MSG... from corn sources and it also has outright corn products.

If you have an asian market, look for a product from china called "White rice cake". They're about the size of your little finger and look like round bamboo strips. Take these home, soak about half the bag in water for a good 12 hours or more (they expand - the package says 12 hours during summer of 16-20 hours in winter and may be prolonged to 5-7 days if complete softness is wanted. LOL I can't imagine wanting them that soft!) and you can make peas and dumplings or chicken and dumplings with them. They taste about as close as you can get to dumplings without actually making bread and dropping it in. The only ingredients are rice and water.

They're reccommended for frying and adding ingredients such as veggies and meat.. I haven't tried that, but I might.

One good way I found to save on soup making time is to cook a LARGE pot all at once, and then take broth and seperate it to cool, and put in quart bags, lay them flat as possible in the freezer and date them with a sharpie (and what kind they are), which greatly assists when you are in a pinch and need "x stock" or are sick and just don't feel like making soup from scratch. All you will have to do is add water, noodles and some veggies if you desire since it already has the flavor sealed in.

hope that helps!

PostSubject: Tabatchnick Classic Wholesome Chicken Broth   Tue Oct 16, 2007 11:10 pm

I have been trying to find if this is gluten free.

the ingredients are: water, salt, chicken meat, yeast extract, sugar, chicken fat, onion powder, turmeric, garlic powder, and flavor.

I am concerned about the onion and garlic powder and the 'flavor'.

If anyone has any GF info on this or can get it, I'd be appreciative. Smile
