| A friend of mine in FL sent through another friend of mine near München (Munich) a package wiht Kineret Classic Almond Cookies. I haven't seen them anywhere before, or heard of them, but it caught my ear when she said they were GF and Kosher. On the box it gives an address: Kineret Consumer Affairs PO Box 17 Bayonne, NJ 07002, USA as well as a website www.kineretfoods.comThe items in it are as follows: Potato Starch, Sugar, Eggs, Almonds, Palm Oil, Coconut and Cocoa. They are listed as Non Gebrokts and Kosher l'Pesach, made in Israel and distributed by HKS Marketing in Bayonne, NJ. My friend found these at Biglots of all places! | |

| Yes, BigLots is like a place near me that has closeouts. I once got a whole case of Organic tomatoes from Israel there at half price. So are these cookies any good? | |

So are these cookies any good? Well, they're very different - about the only thing I can compare them to is maybe Danish wedding cookies. They are crumbly and "gritty" like those, and are good. They leave behind a slight nutty flavor. I'm debating adding something on top of them like icing (Just your basic powdered sugar and milk kind), just to see what that does to the taste.. | |

| Maybe some royal icing? That is fairly easy to make and hardens well. | |

| These are good, 9 to a 3.29$ box, but they don't beat Pamelas chocolate chunk cookie mix. They are 70% organic and non dairy
Pamelas Choclate chunk cookie mix. I had this at a friends and got myself a little bag and made them the other night.
I was too tired to make individual ones so put all the dough into a 9 " pie plate and baked for 20 minutes, after adding some of my normal additions, some good quality organic cinnamin, organic raisins, and some toasted pecans.
You can drop by spoonfuls, or bake in bars, or freeze dough in dollops and bake later!
They were so good, and didn't last long! Next time I will add another favortie that I used to put in the wheat flour ones, oats, I have procured some safe oats and will toast them first then add about 1/4 to 1/3 cup to the mix. This boasts the taste, texture and health quality of the cookie.
Enjoy! | |
