Right now the only thing that comes to mind is Hershey's and there was an organic one (I'm thinking maybe Degoba which is what you already mentioned Laughing ) that my health food store kept on hand..

I get Hershey's plain chocolate and almond at a store ('course I have to pay 3x more than ya'll for one bar because it's imported) here... but that's the only one I am assured is OK.

I get a coconut with chocolate coating, but without heschers all I can do is check behind people as well as ask about the gluten content. This one has no written gluten on the package and thankfully said on there 'no gluten added'. YAY

I will start making my own chocolate goodness once I get the candy making supplies I need so I can make regular doughnuts.. Smile

Hey, guess what I found at a new health food store I discovered? The Dagoda bars. They only had two of the flavors, but , thankfully one them was one that I wanted to try after reading your post.

It's the Lavendar Blueberry. It was only $2.89! I can't wait to try it, but I know how I am, I'll save it and save it, and be afraid to eat it cause it's the only one. silent

GF info from DAGOBA -
Quote :
Are Dagoba’s products gluten free?
Yes and our facility does not handle any products made with gluten.

This new store is great, it even has delivery once a week from a GF baker.pancake flipping I'm told he bakes all kinds of GF goodies so can't wait to try some fresh! I also found a source for some orgainic beans I have been looking for. They didn't have the cliff bars, I thought I had found some the other night, they were cliff but not the chocolatem which seems to be their only GF stuff. Oh well, I found a dagota! cheers

So I finally broke down and tried the Dagoda Lavendar Blueberry, I enjoyed in in small bites over a period of two weeks or more. You really don't need to eat much of this to get that chocolate satisfation. The lavendar and blueberry combo is really good. First you taste the rich dark chocolate that is really superb, then you bite into a blueberry and taste it's sweet tangy goodness, then when that is gone the taste that lingers on your palate is that of the lavendar, fleeting, but haunting like a pure fragrance, it mingles well with the blueberry and lavendar.

I know I will be definatly stocking up on these next visit to that store. Smile

Also I got a variety of the clif bars and finally remembered I had them in the cupboard and tried the Dark Chocolate with walnuts. It was different, like a very moist chocolaty fruit cake. The ingredients are Organic dates, Organic walnuts, unsweetened chocolate, Organic cocoa, org. Vanilla.

Now it says two servings of fruit on the label so I guess two servings of dates were in this.

Now dates are one of the seven species in the promised land so they must be good for us , right?

Dates:All dates are high in iron and
potassium and contain modest amounts of folate and a small amount of vitamin A, and the B vitamins. Dates are beneficial for anemia, constipation and fatigue.

The complete nutritional info http://www.thefruitpages.com/chartdates.shtml

Overall it wasn't bad. Kinda dense, sweet, but naturally, not artificially or white sugary, it had a nice fiber chewiness we don't get with most foods we eat so that was a plus, and the chocolate was satisfying in a healthful way. I would buy this one again.

Tried the lemon, vanilla and cashew one today. I really didn't get any lemon flavor or vanilla but then when vanilla is an ingredient it basically blends with the other flavors, still I would have liked that perfumy taste of a good vanilla with lemon. I basically tasted the dates and cashews. Not bad just not as expected. These are great to put in your purse in case you are away from home and can't get back to get something legal to eat. These won't melt and will give you a quick, healthy boast!

Ghiradelli is Awesome stuff Wink

Unfortunately I don't find it as yummy as Hershey's... but I think that's because I'm a simple girl when it comes to my chocolate. Laughing

I used to love Hershey's Crunch bar.. but those are naturally off limits now. I just eat their almond and 'regular' bar. They're the only chocolate we get from the US other than M&Ms -- and M&Ms are made here in the EU now.
